Truth Sleuths: AI-Powered Digital Citizenship Simulation

  • Audience: Students (high school to higher education), corporate employees, and educators learning or teaching digital citizenship and media literacy.

  • Responsibilities: Instructional Design, eLearning development

  • Tools: Articulate Storyline, FreePik AI, HeyGen AI, Canva, Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Mindmeister, Common Sense Media

An interactive eLearning simulation designed to teach learners how to detect misinformation and practice responsible digital citizenship. Built in Articulate Storyline and guided by an AI avatar (HeyGen), learners complete missions such as spotting fake posts, making ethical decisions, and building trustworthy content.

The Problem

People often share misinformation online because they lack the skills to evaluate content critically, identify red flags, or make ethical digital decisions. This leads to poor online behavior and undermines trust in digital spaces.

The Solution

This AI-powered simulation builds media literacy and digital citizenship skills through interactive, real-world scenarios. Learners practice spotting red flags, evaluating sources, and making ethical choices—guided by an AI mentor—so they can confidently navigate and share content online.

My Process

I followed the ADDIE model to guide the project, beginning with action mapping in collaboration with research using custom GPT’s via ChatGPT and Digital Citizenship websites (Common Sense Media). I created a text-based visual storyboard, visual mockups in Figma, and a Storyline prototype, before full development.
